The “Environmental Movement” is one of the most dangerous facing the Unites States.  The writing below proves that the “Environmentalists and Politicians” don’t give a hoot about the environment.

Environmentalists and progressive politicians not only are making it impossible for the US to become energy self-sufficient, they are 100% responsible for over 80,000 barrels of annual oil pollution off the California coast and over 500,000 barrels of annual oil pollution in the Gulf of Mexico.  This oil pollution is not caused by oil companies.  It is natural seepage.  All that has to be done to reduce this natural seepage  to  zero is to drill more and relieve the pressure.  What does Obama and the Secretary of the Interior do?  They ban all drilling off our coasts.   Thus,  they are directly responsible for  polluting  our coast lines on purpose and  for almost a trillion dollars a year being sent to  foreign oil producing countries.

Researchers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) and the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB)  are the first to quantify the amount of natural seepage of oil and gas offshore from Santa Barbara and Ventura County in California.

Oil Seepage

Natural seepage of oil per day off shore from Santa Barbara, California is estimated to be 10,000 gallons or 238 barrels per day or over 87,000 barrels of oil per year.  To put this in perspective,  in the infamous  1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara coastal waters, approximately 80,000 barrels of oil was spilled.  Every 12 months approximately 87,000 barrels spew up from the sea floor along Santa Barbara’s coast line naturally from off shore oil seeps.  Assuming the Santa Barbara natural  seepage of 87,000 barrels of oil per year; approximately  3,475,000 barrels of oil have seeped naturally of the Santa Barbara coast over the past 40 years.  Lack of proper actions to eliminate this natural seepage by environmentalists and politicians for over 40 years (I call this: ”pollution on purpose”) is responsible for more than 43 times the “accidental” Santa Barbara oil spill in 1969.

Also, to put this into further perspective, since 1969, off shore California accidental oil spills from producing oil rigs operated by the major oil companies have been only 842 barrels. 

To put this in further perspective, more oil has naturally seeped off the coast of Santa Barbara since that  drilling ban went into effect in 1969 than flowed from the BP well that recently blew out in the Gulf of Mexico;  and not one politician or environmentalist show any concern.   It is estimated that natural  seepage in the Gulf of Mexico is 500,000 barrels of oil per year.  This is incredible. 

Gas Seepage

Natural offshore seeps of Gas is estimated to be 6,075 tons per year.  The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control estimates greenhouse gas emitted by all vehicles in Santa Barbara County to be 4,800 tons  per year. 

Solution

To reduce this natural oil and gas seepage, we need to drill for additional gas and oil to relieve the pressure that drives the natural seepage. This drilling could even be done on shore, requiring no new off shore drilling rigs. The environmental groups and politicians reject this solution because they want to appear to be politically correct; want to maintain their power and oppose anything to do with the oil companies making a dollar. 

In 2008, President Bush rescinded the federal ban on off shore oil drilling. On July 20, 2009, Arnold Schwarzenegger propose oil drilling of the outer continental shelf.  Several weeks later the liberal California State legislature voted against this measure.  On September 1, 2009, the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote to oppose all Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil drilling in their report to the Department of the Interior.

If drilling were allowed by the politicians and the environmentalists, a giant pollution problem would be slowed down and eventually eliminated  for future generations; the State of California would have received billions of $$ in royalties, the US would be less dependent upon foreign oil imports; with supply increasing, prices of oil & natural gas  would trend lower and the citizens of the US and California would be better off.  The State could even use some of the billions in royalties to promote clean solar energy.

The drilling solution is a win-win for everyone, and yet the politicians care more about their getting re-elected and the environmentalists care more about their power than any of them think about benefiting the citizens, the State and the Country.

What are these people missing here?  This is a sad day for the people these two groups are supposed to represent,  us!!!

Cordoba, Spain was originally founded by the Romans in 476 AD, was a port city of great importance and became the center of the Visigothic Kingdom.  In 600 AD, The Christian Visigothic Church of Saint Vincent was built.  From 711 – 718 the Visigothic Kingdom was conquered by the Muslim Islamic Ummayyad Califate and Cordoba became the capital of the Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming over 200 years, beginning in 784 AD,  the Saint Vincent church in Cordoba into the world’s third-largest mosque complex at that time.    The Muslim conquerors ruled Cordoba and what is now Spain and Southern France  until 1236 AD. 

In 1236 AD Cordoba was re-conquered by the Christians and the mosque was consecrated as the the Roman Catholic cathedral of Cordoba and/or The cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption.  Today the entire building is used to house the Cathedral of the diocese of Córdoba in Spain.

It is widely recognized by historians that it is a Muslim cultural practice to build  mosques on sites of historical conquests. 

 The proposed ” Cordoba House” overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks – is a test of the timidity,
 passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. 

For example, most of them don’t understand that “ Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term.   Today, some of the Mosque’s backers insist this term is being used to ”symbolize interfaith cooperation” when, in fact,  Cordoba is recognized by all Islamists as a symbol of Muslim conquest. 

It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our  historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way. Those Islamists and their apologists who argue for “religious
toleration” are arrogantly dishonest. They ignore the fact that more
than 100 mosques already exist in New York City . Meanwhile, there are
no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia .

There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as
 there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia .  The time for
 double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over. 
 
In fact no Christian or Jew can even enter Mecca .  And they lecture us about tolerance.   If the people behind the Cordoba House were serious about religious toleration, they would be imploring the Saudis, as fellow Muslims, to  immediately open up Mecca to all and immediately announce their intention to allow non-Muslim houses of worship in the Kingdom. They should be asked by the news media if they would be willing to lead such a campaign.

Finally where is the money coming from?   The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources.  America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive  designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our
elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could.

The  Saturday, July 17, 2010 publication of the Marin Independent Journal headlined its “TOP STORY”  on page one:  “Coping with doom, gloom”,  written by Richard Halstead,  the IJ writer for business, health care and politics.  Mr. Halstead’s writing is about   Andre Angelantoni who has a company called “Post Peak Living” who “sees a future where”:

• “global warming”
• “dwindling oil supplies”

will result in:

• “spiraling unemployment”
• “food shortages” and
• “rising poverty”
• the beginning of the decline of our civilization
• our national unhealthiness, as medical accessibility declines, will create a huge humanitarian crisis. 
• People having to have to get used to people dying of things they used to die of in the past”
• decline in  oil production  re-arranging our society much faster than climate change, while I (Angelantoni) was focused for years on global warming.
• All the oil that can be extracted from tar sands and oil shale, at a higher price, will not be ramped up fast enough to compensate
• unemployment reaching depression levels and continue past that
• oil price shocks and climate change which will result in less  food production worldwide in a big way this decade
• “fewer people seeking higher education because there will be no jobs”. “Once this contraction begins, you don’t need all these educated people.”

Another crisis monger is Raven Gray, President of  TRANSITION  US, who is based in Sebastopol, just up the road from Angelantoni.

I would like to educate them as to the basic foundation of their beliefs:

• GLOBAL WARMING:  The worlds leading scientists have told the worlds public the science of global warming has been affirmed by the scientific community.  This is simply not true.  Scientific data was manipulated by scientists at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research  Unit in Norwich, England to make sure the final conclusion was to prove that global warming was a fact. 
• The reality is that The “global warming’”    hoax  has  been perpetrated by the progressives as a means to purposely cause a shortage of energy and oil supplies.

• The “dwindling    oil   supplies“  you refer to is false.  The progressive liberal energy programs (or lack of a program) are causing dwindling energy supplies in the US.   A current example is Obama shutting down 100% of all new drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.  All 33 rigs will shortly be moved elsewhere, tens of thousands of permanent jobs and tens of  millions of barrels of oil  production will be lost;   caused by OBAMA,  ON PURPOSE!!    Within the domestic United States  there are  more than 10  times the oil and natural gas supplies than  in the middle east alone.  These facts are documented and are not debateable.

Thus, because the PREMISE is false and has no basis in reality;  all the future projections (ABOVE)  of Mr. Angelantoni and Gray are scare tactics that they hope will provide them an audience so they can make a living off this nonsense.

I will say that if the progressives, liberals, left and environmentalists are successful in their efforts to:

1. Continue spreading the false myth of global warming
2. curtail drilling for oil and natural gas on and off shore
3. curtail coal  & nuclear sources as the best  low-cost sources of electricity
4. prevent a continuation of the Bush tax cuts
5. violate the US Constitution every day
6. increase government spending programs
7. increase taxes
8. pass a cap and trade tax bill
9. prevent a 100% reversal of the Obama 2300 page health care bill
10. prevent a 100% reversal of the Obama 2300 pg financial reform bill
11. keep control of the House of Representatives & Senate in November
12. divert water resources to the fish rather than the farmers

Many of Mr. Angelantoni’s will in fact happen and the US will quickly be on the road to total disaster. 

The irony here is that all these progressive policies which will cause all these terrible things to happen are promoted by Angelantoni, Gray,  most at The Independent Journal, the democratic congress  and the Obama administration.  These people are ideologues and are economic illiterates. 

ALL THAT HAS TO BE DONE TO QUICKLY  TURN AROUND THE ECONOMY, INCREASE JOBS AND BECOME 100% ENERGY INDEPENDENT IS TO DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE  OF ITEMS 1 THROUGH 12 ABOVE.   The defeat of the progressives in the House and Senate on November 2, 2010 should be the first step to reverse all this Angelantoni & Gray doom and gloom.   the permanent solution can then occur in November 2012.

So, Mr Angelantoni and Gray,  if you want the nightmare you say is coming to really happen, continue voting for the progressives.  If you want energy independence, prosperity for America, jobs for everyone who wants one, less poverty, no food shortages,  a resurgence of America (“not the beginning of our decline”),  vote the progressives out,  encourage conservative values  and put sanity back in Washington DC.
