It doesn’t matter whether you’re approaching, at or above the mandated cut-off age, virtually everyone under this system will face a similar life-or-death situation some day.  Note that people are no longer patients, they’re now to be called “units”.  It brings back nightmares conjured up in George Orwell’s predictive novel, 1984.

Effective April 16, Walgreens drugstores across the state won’t take any new Medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition — the latest development in an ongoing dispute over Medicaid reimbursement.

The company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling Medicaid prescriptions for current patients.

In a news release, Walgreens said its decision to not take new Medicaid patients stemmed from a “continued reduction in reimbursement” under the state’s Medicaid program, which reimburses it at less than the break-even point for 95 percent of brand-name medications dispensed to Medicaid patents.

Walgreens follows Bartell Drugs, which stopped taking new Medicaid patients last month at all 57 of its stores in Washington, though it still fills Medicaid prescriptions for existing customers at all but 15 of those stores.

Obama Health Plan to Ration Mammograms

As you discuss, besides making everyone in America more dependent on the government,  more redistribution of income, and the creation of a permanent WELFARE STATE,  this Obama Health care program will result in:

1. less freedom
2. A bankrupt America
3. higher taxes
4. $500 million reduction in senior medicare programs
5. rationing of health care
6. higher health care costs, not lower costs
7. a program that will never work
8. etc., etc., etc.

Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Rush, and the right-wing blogosphere seem interested in a talk I gave in September, 2007 to students in a political science class here at Berkeley, in which I played the role of a presidential candidate so politically incorrect and tone-deaf as to pummel every sacred cow in sight — including the notion that our society could afford and would continue forever to pay whatever amount of money was required to keep everyone alive forever. The whole point of the mock exercise was to show that presidential candidates can’t state what everyone knows to be the truth because they’ll be taken apart by the Right or the Left.  I slew many other sacred cows in that mock exercise, some of which are held dearly by the Left. Nonetheless, two years later the Right has exhumed the lecture and taken my words completely out of context purportedly to show that Obama and the Democrats plan death panels.

If  their desperation weren’t so pathetic it would be funny. After all, they have proven the whole point of my lecture. UC Berkeley maintains an archive of webcasts and my speech is available there verbatim, should you wish to listen to it in its entirety.

Our response to Reich:

Robert, we have listened to the full transcript of your Berkeley  speech.  No where in any of your remarks did you say or imply that your comments were part of a “mock” exercise.  (Mock = lead on, deceive, ridicule, false and / or pretend)   What you  did make clear, and what you make clear again in your above comments  was that “Presidential candidates can’t state what everyone knows to be the truth, because they would be taken apart by the right or the left.”

Robert Reich, you and most on the left still do not get the point.  You were telling the truth.  You were not pretending or  mocking anything.  The voters in the United States want to be told the truth, can tell the truth from a falsehood and congratulate you for telling the truth, finally.  Where you, Obama,  Ezekiel Emanuel (your Health care rationing Czar) and others are lying is when they say one thing today, like you have at Berkeley in 2007, and then deny it here in 2009.   You can’t have it both ways.  Obama does this every day also.  See Obama’s comments on this subject below:

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont.,  who is responsible for writing and guiding the “National Health Care Plan through Congress was outraged:

“It is wholly unacceptable for insurance companies to mislead seniors regarding any subject — particularly on a subject as important to them, and to the nation, as health care reform,” Baucus said Monday, September 21, 2009, disclosing his  HHS investigation.

Montana Senator Max Baucus has requested an investigation of Humana, by The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) , for daring to criticize his health care reform proposal and disagreeing with him in the likely outcome should it be passed into law.  HHS ordered the company to immediately halt any such mailings, and remove any related materials from its Web site. In the letter, the government also said it may take other action against Humana, which is based in Louisville, Ky.

Although there is nothing misleading about the Humana mailer, HHS alleged that seniors were so senile they would mistake the mailer for an official Medicare Communication.

This is a very  alarming development for the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech in America.

Senator Baucus, just because you don’t think the Medicare cuts will lead to benefit cuts doesn’t make it the  truth. The government has no right to censor communications between companies and their customers as long as no law is broken.

Suppression of opposite views is simply not tolerated by the First Amendment, and it is shocking that a United States Senator would use the power of his office to initiate an investigation of a private company simply because it does not share his analysis of pending legislation.

He arranged for the MRI in the US.  When the MRI indicated  he indeed did have brain cancer, the Canadian government refused to quickly arrange for an operation.  He had the operation performed in the US.

Obama and the liberal congress want the same, single payer system, which Canada has for everyone in the US, except the top federal government employees (President & Executive branch, Congress and the Judiciary and other select government employees).

If the single payer plan is adopted by the Congress in the US, according to the Canadian’s physician, his biggest problem with this for him would be:  “I will not have a country to send my patients to any more”.

What insurance program do you want?  The free one from the government (which you pay taxes for) or the one you pay your insurance company for?

Then,  he throws her under the bus again,  when he uses her as an example of how the elderly are  draining (stealing) valuable health care resources from the Country, when  she was talking about a hip replacement. This is an example Obama’s idea of health care reform.
