Several days ago she spoke to reporters and said that Fox News distorted the News and did not tell the truth.  She said  Fox News was the research arm of the Republican Party.  She has been challenged to show exactly where Fox News did not tell the truth.  She has not responded, because the “news” arm of Fox has told the truth and the editorial arm of Fox (Sean Hannity and Glen Beck) have told their opinions (the definition of an editorial).

Now that she has gone on an unwarranted attack, research has uncovered a u tube video where she was giving the commencement speech on June 5, 2009 at the National Cathedral in Washington D C for the  Saint Andrews Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland.

In this speech, she says:  “A lot of you have great deal of ability. A lot of you work hard. Put them together and that answers the why not question. There is usually not a good reason. And then the 3rd lesson and tip actually come from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse-Tung and Mother Teresa, not often coupled with each other, but the two people that I turn to the  most to basically deliver a simple point which is you’re going to make choices, you’re going to challenge, you’re going to say why not. You’re going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before. But here’s the deal, these are your choices, they’re no one else’s.”

 How can she compare a near Saint to a tyrant who has murdered tens of millions of his own people?   

Arthur Waldron in his October 2005 essay in Commentary,  describes the architect of China’s Cultural Revolution this way:  “Mao was the greatest mass murderer of the 20th century. Much of the killing was direct, as in the torture and purges at Yan’an.”  It is estimated that upwards of 70 million people were murdered by Mao.

This is another example of the people appointed by Obama and the people he surrounds himself with:  Marxists, socialists & communists who favor social and environmental change (justice in their minds) and the redistribution of wealth  FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF SOCIETY,   rather than THE GREATER GOOD OF THE  INDIVIDUAL AND THE  INDIVIDUALS RIGHTS,  FREEDOM  AND LIBERTY.

Representative, John Shadegg, Republican Arizona, has sponsored the “Enumerated Powers Act”, HR450 for 15 years.  He has 52 co-sponsors.  HR 450 provides that EACH  ACT  OF  CONGRESS  SHALL  CONTAIN  A  STATEMENT CITING  THE  SPECIFIC  POWERS  GRANTED  TO CONGRESS  IN  THE CONSTITUTION  TO  ENACT  THE  PROPOSED LAW. 

For 15 years, this bill has never made it out of the House Judiciary Committee.  The current Chairman of the Judiciary Committee is John Conyers.   john.conyers@mailhouse.gov    Call, email and write you representatives asking them to co-sponsor HR450.  If they refuse or do not respond, vote them out of office in the next election.

If you want to break into the top 1% club then you’ll have to aim for $365k per year. But remember, unless a recession happens by the time you get up to that level the threshold for top 1% membership will have risen.

Growing inequality is a boon for federal tax collections because the higher income people are taxed at higher percentage rates. The same dollar earned by a high income person nets the IRS much more in taxes collected than if a lower income person in a low tax bracket earns that dollar. The top 1% alone paid almost 40% of total federal income taxes. This is why such a big chunk of the electorate isn’t strongly opposed to more federal spending. They know they won’t be the ones paying for it.

The table above shows that the top-earning 25 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $62,068) earned 67.5 percent of nation’s income, but they paid more than four out of every five dollars collected by the federal income tax (86 percent). The top 1 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $364,657) earned approximately 21.2 percent of the nation’s income (as defined by AGI), yet paid 39.4 percent of all federal income taxes. That means the top 1 percent of tax returns paid about the same amount of federal individual income taxes as the bottom 95 percent of tax returns.

The IRS data also shows increases in individual incomes across all income groups. Just as the highest earners lost the biggest percentage of their incomes during the recession of 2001, so they have prospered the most as the economy has continued to rebound. In sum, between 2000 and 2005, pre-tax income for the top 1 percent group grew by 19.1 percent. In the same time period, pre-tax income for the bottom 50 percent increased by 15.5 percent.

Will we reach a point where the top 1% are paying half of all income taxes?
