Obama in Process of Eliminating U S Soverignty

In 1983, President Reagan, through Executive Order 12425,  extended to INTERPOL recognition as an “International Organization.” In short, the privileges and immunities afforded foreign diplomats were extended to INTERPOL. Two sets of important privileges and immunities were withheld: Section 2c and the remaining sections cited (all of which deal with differing taxes).

On December 17, 2009, and President Obama removed the exemptions in EO 12425  Section 2c of the United States International Organizations Immunities Act is the crucial piece.

What does this mean?

  1. By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates  on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests and from American legal or investigative discovery
  2. Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable.
  3. Property and assets  immune from search and confiscation, could conceivably include human assets,  Americans arrested on our soil by INTERPOL officers.
  4. Regarding point # 3 above, the elevation of INTERPOL above the U S Constitution, is likely  a precursor to Obama subjecting the United States to the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC).   As the FBI is an enforcement arm of the US Department of Justice; INTERPOL is the major enforcement arm for the ICC.

The ICC was founded by the United Nations through the “Rome Statute”.   The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute.   President Bush completely rejected the notion of the US signing on to the Rome Statute and subjecting U S armed forces to hostile international courts looking for war crimes prosecution during an unpopular war.  Obama has left this door open and his senior advisor, Samantha Power, has laid out a roadmap for the U S to sign on to the Rome Statute and the ICC.  (not mentioning U S sovereignty but the U S image and prestige)

U S citizens, now working for INTERPOL, physically located in U S Justice Department offices,  can now operate above the U S constitution.  The American people deserve and explanation from Obama of why he has elevated an international law enforcement organization who assists an international court which we are not a signatory to,  above the U S Constitution.
