Environmental  Hypocrisy in San Francisco and Marin County

 Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior Department, which manages the National Park Service (NPS) (under pressure from “environmentalists”) refuses to renew a NPS lease on Drakes Bay Oyster Farm which has been in operation for over 100 years.

 Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior Department, which manages the National Park Service (NPS) (under pressure from “environmentalists”) completes restoration and painting of “GRAFFITI” on the Alcatraz Island (managed by the NPS) water tower to restore the weathered “GRAFFITI” painted by the activist American Indians during their 1969 -1971 occupation.

Environmentalists begin oyster restoration effort in Marin County on San Francisco Bay to restore the long-lost oyster reef habitat and clean the bay water.  Environmentalists say a  single oyster can clean up to 30 gallons of water a day by removing nitrogen and other pollutants. The man-made reefs which are used to create the new oyster growing habitat are made of mesh bags filled with discarded oyster shells provided at no cost by The Drakes Bay Oyster Company.

Summary

 Local business closed; loss of 30 jobs; loss of 40% of California sustainable oyster production; loss of homes for 30 employees and their families; loss of millions of live growing oyster inventory.

 Cost of Alcatraz “GRAFFITI” over $1,000,000 of tax payer money

You can’t make this stuff up.  Environmental extremists are a “sick” bunch.

This Environmental Hypocrisy going to get much worse over the next  3 years with Mr. Salazar, Obama’s EPA and Obama running America like tyrants.
